I got one of these in a sampler a while back and it was magical, I wanted to order more, but they were more than I wanted to spend. One fanciful day I had an opportunity to snatch 20 of them for next to nothing, and so I did. I got a few of each size, and so I’ll be reviewing those different sizes… today, the churchill.
Construction appears to be pretty good, a few small veins, but otherwise quite nice. The band feels as though it’s got a bitch too much glue, and the glue has stuck it to the wrapper. I very much like the 48 ring gauge on longer cigars, so that’s a nice change of pace from the standard 7″ x 50.
Cold draw is bland and firm.
Light is easy and quick, the flavours are… classic Connecticut tobacco. Wheaty and sweet; warm and toasty, however the draw is very cool. It’s a pretty two demential cigar, but it’s also very good… so unless you need complexity in your smoke, you should love this.
There’s a nice spice through the nose… and the flavours have actually changed, and there’s a whole lot of cocoa now.
Back to the toasty flavours.
